Overview/Mission/Location: The Ella Baker Center For Human Rights is based in Oakland California and is named after the black civil rights activist, Ella Baker. This organization’s mission is to shift resources away from prisons and punishment and towards opportunities that make our communities safe, healthy, and strong.
Intersectional Approach: The Ella Baker Center for Human Rights takes the intersectional approach by organizing with black, brown, and low-income people and advances racial and economic justice to ensure dignity and opportunity for them.
